Joy Bredestege has been doing my hair for the past few years and I could not recommend someone more highly. She is such awesome talent! I’m always switching up my style and have been thrilled with the results every time and get so many compliments on my color! My brother has been going to her for over 20 years for his cuts and won’t let anyone else touch his hair…so she is so versatile. Amazing highlights and always the cutest cuts. Joy is wonderful came in to do my mom’s hair who is 80 years old my mom is kind of person who can have an attitude about things but they have been talking for the past couple hours and my mom’s not complaining and she’s happy and Joy worked with what we had in the kitchen she is awesome I would highly recommend her I wish I could’ve found her along time ago I just saw her on the freeway one day and I saw her sign and decided to give her a call she’s an angel thank you so much Joy. – From Monica R.
Joy has been my stylist for more than 13 years now. I have followed her around San Diego to 5 or more salons because she’s worth it! And trust me, I have tried out other places in my neighborhood and near my office when she has moved more than 5 miles from work, but I always come back.
Joy is great to chat with while she’s working, and if you’re in a hurry she respects your time and gets down to business – critical if you are like me and sometimes trying to fit in a cut before going out of town for a few days on business.
Just let her know what you need and Joy will take care of you. I have dark brown hair and wanted to try blonde for a couple weeks (back in the 90’s) and she hooked me up without making me look like chicken little. Our daughter wanted blue streaks for her high school prom and when Joy was done with her, she was so excited that it looked just the way she had imagined it. I found Joy through Yelp and I’m so glad I did! I have thick, curly hair and finding someone who actually knows how to work with it is usually a challenge. Joy does a beautiful job at both cutting and coloring my hair. She really listens to what I want and is great about working with me to adjust the cut to any personal preferences. I’d been apprehensive about getting highlights after many botched jobs by other hairdressers. Joy does a beautiful job, though! The highlights enhance my hair color but still look natural.

Joy has been my hairdresser for the last few years and she is fabulous at her craft. She will always make herself available for me when I desperately need a color or cut and her rates are very reasonable. Joy is easy going and has a fabulous sense of humor – overall just a great person. On a few occasions, Joy has even gone to my grandparents house and did a haircut for my house-bound grandmother – which was to say the least, AWESOME.
It’s hard to find someone that listens to your needs as a client and then executes them to your liking, but Joy has a real talent at this. So bring in your mop of hair and let Joy do you right. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a new style, a new steady hairdresser or a change of color.
